“Milsom storms to maiden victory by blowing the field away”

ASR senior rotax driver Layton Milsom, blew the rest of the field away at Kimbolton on 14th March.

After turning up from testing at PFI on the friday, we decided to put a late entry in for the race at Kimbolton. Gaining fastest lap in the first heat, winning the second heat, Layton started pole postition for the final. After filing through the first corner without a collision it was clear Layton was going to control the race, and he did it exceptionally, driving away from second place man and taking a superb lights to flag victory!! Team manager Andrew Scales commented by saying ” Layton has had the pace to win for a while now, but mainly just hasnt had the luck. With him only having 5 races in seniors under his belt, he will deffinitly be a strong competitor in the future, well done layts”!

“Gilby is future rising star”

ASR minimax driver George Gilby has shone in his last two meetings. So far winning all of his novice trophies. At Georges last meeting competing at Wigan, he receieved joint second fastest time in a wet heat (previoulsy never driving the track in the wet) and his laptime in the final was only 3 tenths off the pace. In the final George drove up from grid 10 to 5th, mixing it in the leading pack before a collision between 3rd and 4th took him off the track aswell, but eventually George got back on the track and finished a confident 9th. ASR Team Manager commented on Georges performances of late to say ” George has been doing exceptionally well recently and were looking forward to getting him out in the kart more to push him onto the next level to start winning. For a novice he is turning alot of heads, which is good because he is recieveing respect from other drivers already”.
